Dr. Ana Rondon, Ph.D.

Ana Rondon, Ph.D., attended the University Of Central Florida (UCF) for her undergraduate education in psychology. During this time and post-graduation, Ana worked as a behavioral counselor and subsequently as a lead counselor for FIU’s Summer Treatment Program for PreKindergarteners (STP-PreK). Following completion of her B.S., Ana worked as a research assistant on a phase II clinical trial at FIU under the supervision of Dr. James Waxmonsky, M.D., before moving to Tuscaloosa, AL for graduate school. Ana completed her graduate training in clinical psychology, within the child concentration, at the University of Alabama under the mentorship of Dr. Jarrett and her pre-doctoral internship at the University Of Wisconsin Department Of Psychiatry.

Ana’s research interests focus on understanding the trajectory of ADHD and commonly co-occurring disorders in addition to the impact they have on academic, executive, and social functioning. More broadly, Ana is interested in both, the intersection that mental health has with physical activity, and community-based initiatives designed to promote positive learning and health outcomes for students and families. Ana has experience within academic, community, and clinical settings and is looking forward to collaborating with educators and families through the Reading Explorers Program to support the academic and overall development of youth.
