George Tragoudas

George Tragoudas is a first-year Clinical Science Ph.D. student at Florida International University (FIU), holding a BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While an undergraduate, he investigated higher-order cognitive processes in Dr. Aaron Barbey’s Decision Neuroscience Lab and participated in the FIU Summer Treatment Program.
After graduation, he worked at the University of Chicago Medicine (UCM), supporting comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children with diverse clinical conditions. At UCM, he was involved in research on how contextual risk factors impact neuropsychological functions in children with neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as trauma-informed interventions for underserved children. Seeking more clinical research experience, George became a clinical neuroscience research coordinator in Dr. Vinod Menon’s Stanford Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience Laboratory (SCNSL) at the Stanford School of Medicine. While at the SCNSL, he conducted neuroimaging clinical trials examining neural, cognitive, and academic changes in typically developing children and those with autism spectrum disorder and mathematical learning disabilities following cognitive and academic interventions.
George’s research in Dr. Katie Hart’s School R.E.A.D.Y Lab broadly focuses on assessing the cognitive, behavioral, and learning patterns in children with neurodevelopmental disorders. He is also interested in understanding how these patterns vary across contextual and demographic differences. His ultimate goal is to utilize this work to advance interventions that support school readiness for these children.
